So here it is in the first week of July and first of all I'd like to say that I lost 40 pounds since my last report.
I'm on my way to beginning to losing the next 100 pounds.
It's a slow process but I'm pretty sure I can do it.

I've been doing some artwork but neglecting to scan most of it.
I've been making some jewelry and I have an Etsy shop to attempt to sell some of it.
www.etsy.com/ca/shop/Frohickey…

So there it is.

Everything is more or less OK at the moment.

More later....

Hi again. I'm not good at maintaining journals.
Still doing OK but xmas was a bit rough emotionally.
I've been churning out artwork but have gotten behind in scanning and posting it here.

10 years ago I began working in a smaller format (5 X 7 inches roughly) and started cementing the finished pieces into handmade books, about 120 pieces per book.
I now have 24 finished volumes of artwork for a total of about 2880 pieces in all.

That's a lot of paper.

I'll be joining the same weight management course that I did 2 years ago as I still have a lot of weight to take off. I'm in good health and mobile and enjoying the freedom it brings. I have, however, been affected with depression and it has kept me from a lot of things I like to do. Otherwise I'm OK and looking forward to the new year.

I hope everyone who watches my work has a decent year as well.

A little late but I hope everyone had a decent Xmas Season this year. It was a year of major (and unexpected) change for me in that I lost 100 pounds since the end of February of 2012. I had become a member of a Weight Management program that would have ultimately led to Lap-band surgery to lose weight. To make a long story short, I did so well losing weight on my own (I had to lose 5% of my total mass as part of a qualification to the program) that when the program reached its end, I had lost about 40 pounds and decided to just continue what I was doing as opposed to getting the operation (there were only a limited number of such operations available per year for this situation and there are more people wanting them than can have them). Anyway, since then I have reached my mid-term goal of losing 100 pounds and in the New Year will continue on to losing the second 100 pounds I need to shed. BTW, I started the program weighing in at 437 pounds.  Now, I can sit in normal sized chairs, walk, stand for appreciable amounts of time; things ordinary people do every day but don't think anything about it.
I was effectively crippled for about 10-15 years (of my own doing; I don't shirk the responsibility there) but after I hit 50 years old, I realized that I might not reach 60 if I didn't do something about it right away.
Anyway, there's your not-so-short story so far.

Here are more books that I have put together.
"Starstone" is a compilation of the three issues that were drawn by me and written by Gordon Derry back in 1987 and were published by Aircel Comics. This was my first ever comics job and I was delirious about it.

Here's where you can get one! (three different formats depending on the depth of your devotion and pockets; paperbound, hardcover with dust jacket and imagewrap hardcover, where the cover image is printed on the cover itself)  www.blurb.com/bookstore/detail…

"Frontiers" is a solo project originally published in separate chapters in a furry magazine from MU Press called "ZU."
Later on, the editors decided to release the whole story as a graphic novel in 1991. Much later on I decided to try publishing it again on my own with a revised cover and some interior refitting. So, here it is, also in three different formats.

You can see it here.  www.blurb.com/bookstore/detail…

I've just compiled a mass of black and white art into convenient book form and called the thing,"It's All There in Black & White." Clever, eh? OK, fine, then.

And, of course, you can see it here.  www.blurb.com/bookstore/detail…

So, I've been a busy guy because the original art for all these books doesn't just fly together and become one with everything. (an artistic hot dog, perhaps) Starstone required scanning all 90-odd pages top half then bottom half as my scanner bed is only 8.5" X 11". Then all the lettering had to be redone (for artistic reasons I won't bore you with here) new page numbering, changing white panel borders black and other tweaks and refinements so subtle they can scarcely be said to have been made at all.

"So", as my college illustration instructor always said,"There it is."
I stand corrected; My instructor actually said;"So, what else?..."
"Well, There it is." was what the Emperor Joseph II said in "Amadeus."

Finally!
A book that I can be proud of.

Here is my first art book, titled, ironically enough, "Look Upon My Works, Ye Mighty," a reference to Shelley's great poem, "Ozymandias."

Anyway, here is where you can see it: www.blurb.com/my/book/detail/2…

Cover: Look Upon My Works, Ye Mighty, Cover of artbook

There's more, True Believers!
Here is my first book of short stories painstakingly assembled over many years of lackadaisical scribbling.  www.blurb.com/bookstore/detail…

Carpenter's Hammer & Other Tales Cover, Cover of Fiction Book

If anyone has questions about either book, let me know.
