V: The Duty of a Watchman
The strange, metallic being stood hip-deep in the tangle of mud, weeds and filth-clouded water that was the bottom of the Bow River Harbour. Here, he could ponder the events of the past few weeks in some semblance of privacy. It was here that he found refuge after the disastrous results of his fiery battle with the Purple Dynamo. He knew that he couldn't wait here forever, though perhaps it might be for the better, he mused. No, he knew he had not been made to hide; he would soon have to face his maker, and that couldn't be evaded forever. Moving slowly, he began to step towards the shore.

I: Temptation and Fall
It was a perfect night.
Thunder boomed and rolled across a purple sky laced with broad strokes of lightning. Rain, lashed and driven by stormy gusts filled in the pauses between the rafter rattling claps and the mournful shrieks of the rising winds.
The man in the tattered lab coat looked up and thought again,
" A perfect night."
He toiled over levers and pull rods that controlled the foundry equipment he had taken so much care in installing. Electrical arcs and the sound of whirling dynamos filled the huge chamber and the heat, even from this distance was sweltering, but he had no choice but to continue. When the process had been started, it had to be completed or the materials, the rare and expensive alloys and salts would be wasted and the process would have to be begun again. He was too close now, to let anything hinder him. He had not long to live if he failed, and failure was an option he could not accept. A swift justice needed to be meted
